Vanishing Violet

Forget Lavender now, its Vernonia Cinerea, a herb. Here in Kerala, it is known as ‘Poovamkurunthala’. The roots of these plants are being used as home medicine for fever and cold for hundreds of years.Still a common herb in kerala , but now they are in the list of endangered plant species, seen in south India.Wikipedia gives out her cousins and aunts around the world…In background is my college main block.This is one of a hundred mad shots during the 4 years of academy.There are more pics,may be on an another occasion… : )

    It’s a beautiful plant! Looks so fragile but it does miracles by healing!
